In this course, software developer and architect Frank Moley highlights the benefits and potential issues for two popular Java frameworks: Spring and Quarkus. Frank compares how both frameworks handle dependency injection and data access, with challenges to give you hands-on experience with both. He shows you the MVC pattern with Spring, as well as the JAX-RS pattern for REST-based web services and the Qute templating engine for web pages in Quarkus. Frank walks you through additional integrations, such as logging, observability, messaging, security, and more. Plus, he presents general assessments of these two frameworks, based on real-world work with both, to help you determine which framework is best for your specific needs.
