Description
Learn how to use storytelling to become more approachable and relatable and build rapport with subordinates at work.
Description
One of the hardest things to do as a leader is to build rapport with subordinates. You can be competent, kind, and respected, but your elevated status as a leader can still make candid, two-way dialogue challenging. If you want to become a little more approachable, relatable, and human, the single best way to do that is to learn how to be a good storyteller. In this course, Todd Dewett explains how a good story has the capacity to educate and inform an audience while building a stronger bond with you as a person. Todd starts by helping you embrace the idea of using storytelling as a part of your communication toolkit. He then guides you in how to pick a good event from your past, how to shape that event into a clear learning topic, and then how to structure it into an engaging short story. Then, learn how to properly practice your story and select a meeting or event to use that story.
