"El Pintoresco profesor Sócrates García es llamado para dar clases en una escuela rural; a pesar de simpatizar rápidamente con los habitantes tiene un obstáculo: el cacique del pueblo y el presidente municipal son enemigos de la educación, por lo que harán todo lo posible para que el Profe no pueda impartir su educación: lo mandan golpear, convierten la escuela en cantina, y cuando Sócrates improvisa un toldo para dar clases al aire libre, lo mandan quemar ... El Profe no se dará por vencido y luchará contra la corrupción del cacique y el presidente municipal"--Container.
