Description
Explore the extensive fur trading network established by the French to the north in the Great Lakes region and Canada, and later in the Louisiana Territory. At the peak of their colonization, the French occupied the largest geographical area of North America, but had the fewest settlers. In times of conflict with the English and Spanish, the French benefitted from their freindly relationships with many Native American tribes.
