Description
Technological advances are constantly leading to bigger, lighter, and faster passenger planes, but what about the future? This video clip looks at hypersonic vehicles, touted as the next big thing in aviation. These crafts fly at more than five times the speed of sound, but this clip asks how this technological progress can be implemented in a world where fuel is becoming more and more expensive and carbon emissions are becoming a bigger and bigger problem. One suggestion: build passenger craft that use far less fossil fuels, or, even better, build planes that use none at all.
